LITTLE FREE LIBRARY

October 29, 2016

What fun is the neighborhood Little Free Library!  While on a walk in Venice, California, we came upon two neighborhood library boxes in one block.  Small little boxes resembling large mail boxes where you can drop off a favorite book or pick up something new to read. They are everywhere!  And not just in Venice.  They are so friendly and so inviting and such a “neighborly” idea that every neighborhood should have them.  What a great way to share a good book or discover a new author.  Keep reading and be neighborly!!little-free-library

FLEET WEEK SAN FRANCISCO

October 4, 2016

The skyline of San Francisco glows with blue lights in the evening in honor of San Francisco Fleet Week.  With a week filled with activities, October 7th – 10th promises to be fun and exciting.  There are ship tours, marching bands – even a high school band competition – , art shows, air shows, the Parade of Ships on Friday and, of course, the amazing Blue Angels.  Prepare to be in awe as they soar through the skies over the San Francisco Bay, spinning and circling only inches from each other.  There is a viewing area on the Marina Green and you can reserve seats online.  Sit, watch and enjoy the catered food. San Francisco Fleet Week has been an October tradition in the Bay Area since 1981.  It promises to be fun-filled, educational and exciting.  Don’t miss it!                                     http://www.powerhiking.comimg_9899
