October 10, 2016

Fall is here and the autumn harvest is upon us.  Time to celebrate!  Every year scenic Half Moon Bay hosts the HALF MOON BAY ART AND PUMPKIN FESTIVAL.  This beautiful California coast city is known as the pumpkin capital of the world and for 46 years has celebrated the autumn harvest and pumpkin picking season with the festival on Main Street.  Visitors flock from far and wide to partake in the family fun and pick out that very special pumpkin.  There is something for everyone – crafts, artists, musicians, pumpkin sculpture, pie eating contests, costume contests, music contests and food.  You will find everything from pumpkin pie to pumpkin ice cream to pumpkin soup, even local wineries and breweries.  You won’t want to miss the parade down Main Street and the Festival promises to be a treat under beautiful coastal skies surrounded by magnificent coastal scenery.  Dates are Saturday and Sunday, October 15 th and 16 th from 9 am to 5 pm.  Great fields of orange along the highway will let you know that you are almost there.  Have fun!!  We are looking forward to it.               http://www.powerhiking.comIMG_6852IMG_6853img_9984
