PowerHiking spoke at a Power luncheon for the Junior League of San Francisco sustainers. It took place at the Villa Taverna which you can find in The Barbary Coast chapter of PowerHiking San Francisco. Historic location, great luncheon, power filled room.

PowerHiking spent the week-end in Palm Beach. Postcard pretty, full of friendly, happy people. Who wouldn’t be happy living there? The weather was a little cool, so no swimming in the ocean. And there were sharks! If you go, be sure to visit The Four Arts Center, especially the sculpture garden. And there are more antique shops with the best stuff that I have seen anywhere! Worth Street is the shopping scene – all the big names, and some specialty stores to browse. Great place for a ladies’ getaway week-end.

Powerhiking took a quick trip to New York City last week. The highlight was a very long horse carriage ride up the east side of the park to take a special picture for our newest book, PowerHiking New York City. The driver, Rashed, and I chatted quite a while. He said to tell our readers that he will give you very special treatment if you take a ride in his carriage! It was great fun, and we got the picture!

Walked part of the Tiburon Powerhike in the Powerhiking San Francisco book this morning. Beautiful! Walked along the water with lots of pelicans, cormorants, ducks, geese and sea gulls. There were even seals frolicing in the water. Terrific!
