ON THE ROAD TO MOUNT HOOD

August 25, 2015

The road between Portland and Mount Hood is lined with trees – not just pine trees, although they abound, but many varieties of trees.  Once you pass the growing nurseries of Sandy, it is non-stop beauty. In the fall the trees are changing color and the road is one continuous rainbow of hues of orange, yellow, rust, and red. The rest of the year they are green and just plain gorgeous. Forests of trees as far as the eye can see are yours to enjoy while you drive.

On the road to Mount Hood in Oregon and tucked into the Tom Dick Harry Mountain is Mirror Lake. It is beautiful, serene, and an easy hike to get to. The trail head is well marked and the trail is wide and well kept and is a mile and a half each way. Take a picnic or just sit and relax and enjoy the scenery.
