PowerHiked Hamner Springs yesterday – Dog Creek Trail, Waterfall Trail and the Forest Trail. All were spectacular! What a great place to hike in such beautiful scenery. The we went jet boating on the Waiau River through the Waiau Gorge. How thrilling was that!! after that we watched the bungy jumpers jumping into the gorge. New Zealand is definitely fun!

PowerHikers are PowerHiking in New Zealand. Powerhikied Christchurch yesterday. Beautiful town, lovely river flowing through town, great museums and a fabulous botanical garden. Azaleas and rhododendrums are in bloom and fabulous. It is spring here!

PowerHiking is off to New Zealand in a week for some flyfishing and vineyard explorations, including shopping for pottery in Nelson, kayaking, walking a lot, and beautiful scenery! Might be a book in it!

Went to the Larkspur Library last night to hear a presentation called “The evolution of women’s travel.” It was given by Dimensions in Travel, from Novato. The visuals and commentary were entertaining and informative, and the audience really enjoyed it. PowerHiking was asked to describe our books and explain what powerhiking is. It was fun!

Powerhiked in SF yesterday. First went to the Tut show at the de Young. Then downtown to see some of our book sellers. Then out to Crissy Field and Fort Point. The Bay was dotted with sailboats, ferries, and yachts, and the Blue Angels were practicing overhead. Where are you powerhiking this week-end?

Gorgeous oceanside hotel – the Four Seasons Biltmore, with acres of tropical flowers and trees. PowerHikers can visit Montecito, a charming village with cafes, shops, and beautiful homes and estates. It seems that everyone is walking a dog! Wouldmake a great powerhiking book!

PowerHiking authors Carolyn and Cathleen were interviewed about their experiences writing the walking guides by Novato librarian Donna Mettier. The program premiered Monday, Oct. 5th at 3PM and 8PM on Novato’s public access channel 26. It was a fun show!
